First, we have the constitutional issue.

2nd Amendment. We have the right to keep and bear arms.

The thoughts on school shootings can be many. Nobody understands them. The question to ask is, "what if the other students and teachers carried guns"? Then how many would they kill before they are shot themselves?

I honestly feel that if somebody is going to kill with a gun, they could with a bomb a knife, poison etc.

The purpose of Guns if for the People to remain in power over the government.

Gun control is the most scary thing I've ever heard of.

Watch the indian movie "I buried my heart at wounded knee". Right after they gave up their guns, a gun fight broke out and the indians were slaughtered.

Hitler also had gun control. As does England, which now has cameras and spy drone planes on every corner.

Arms keep freedom.

Sickos will always exist - Boston strangler for example, dracula (yes real person), Ghangis kahn.

School shootings are just hyped out by the media.

We already have a significant amount of regulation in the area of firearms and ownership thereof. The simple fact is that if a criminal wants a gun they will get one illegally. Imposing further controls is unlikely to have a significant effect upon the use of guns in crime.

I the gun owner apologize for why I feel the need to own a gun.

I am sorry for being afraid.
I am afraid of people who want to do harm to those I love for no logical reason. I am afraid that I do not have the ability to stop an armed man from harming them. They will be hurt or raped or killed. A gun gives me an equal or advantage, a gun makes them safe at night.

I am sorry for being scared.
I am scared I can not run from all fights that I can not win. I am scared that I will be cornered and out numbered. I try to avoid those situations but those situations may not always avoid me. I am scared of the man in the crowd with the gun randomly shooting. I have been shot by him once before and only by luck was I not more seriously injured. The gun is my security blanket, it is my cape.

I am sorry for being greedy.
I enjoy all that I own. I have built my empire from nothing and no one will ever take it away from me again. Not a piece, not in whole. No one shall enter my castle to rob me, no one shall violate the sanctity of my temple.
My gun is on the parapet of this fortress that none shall destroy.

I am sorry for my lust.
I find my guns an addiction of sorts. Mechanical marvels that are beautiful in their form. I desire to own one of every variety of sensual form that fits in my hands. I lovingly clean and caress the supple lines. Happiness is a warm gun.

I am sorry for being stern.
I follow the words of our rights as how they are written, not how they are interpreted to be. The national Guard is not "a militia" and the right to bear arms is not only for that militia to have. You would be pissed if I tried to take away your right to free speech but try to take away my right to protect yours.
I can not give up.

I am sorry for being a killer.
I kill animals, I kill paper, I kill targets, and if I have to I will kill a person. I have been a killer for most of my life. nothing is going to change here, I hone my skills for one day when they will be needed. I can no more practice my killing without a gun than a flutist without a flute. But I have never seen anyone kill something with a flute. Maybe you just have to throw it hard enough.

I am sorry for being sceptical.
Police will not always protect me. The government will not always be for the people. the politicians will never be truthful. The criminals will never reform.
My gun assures that these can indeed change.

I am sorry for not being a p*ssy.

What is gun control anyway. People keep saying if we had stronger gun control laws then these things would never have happened. We have a pretty strict policy on guns I think, but people break the law and get guns illegally alot of the time. If there were no guns in homes, school bludgeonings, or bombings would be the news topics. Then should we have tpougher baseball bat laws, and stop making anything that can go into a bomb? I really dont think gun control would have made a difference.

First off, the school shootings are not "seemingly endless." The fact of the matter is that they hardly happen.

The other point is that putting more laws on firearms won't reduce crime. It works the same way with laws on drugs. It just creates more criminals.

Lastly, all the shootings are happening where guns are illegal; so think about how the shooters might have been stopped by other gun carriers if they were allowed to posses firearms on school grounds.

Don't blame the "seemingly endless school shootings" on guns. Perhaps if parents of those shooters spent more time with their kids, those wouldn't have happened. Perhaps if parents of those shooters kept their weapons at safer location, none of those would have happened.

How about the grandpa who ran over students in school the other day? Are we going to ban SUVs on campus now?

Hint: gun-control still cannot remove all the guns on the black market.

Hint2: most of the guns used in the crime are not registered.

There was a form of "gun control" involved here since all these shooting took place in locales where guns were not legally permitted (AKA gun free zones). So perhaps the right to carry and an armed citizen would have prevented at least some of these murders. Most research I've read seems to indicate that where law-abiding folks have a right to carry, crime rates drop (see John Lott of the Univ. of Chicago for one).

As for me, I believe that I have a right to protect myself and if I don't who will? The police? They have no legal obligation to protect anyone. Would you trust 911 or any complete stranger with your life more than you trust your own ability and judgement (assuming you had some training with firearms)?Well, I've got a lot of training with weapons and I carry. But I've never had to use, nor even show a firearm so I can't be accused of being some gun-toting yahoo(no pun intended). The right to keep and bear arms is not about hunting, it's about our rights to protect life, liberty and property. When you deny that right to law-abiding, mentally competent citizens, it's call tyranny. That's why most dictatorships disarm their own people first.

Our freedom is based on the fact there is no true gun control. If there had been a ban on all assault weapons in 1776 we would have lost the revaluation . Also Ir land has Gun control yet The IRA has better guns than the English Soldiers do? Why, because if you want something illegal someone will supply it to you at a price. Basic supply and demand. Besides Gun Control is a HOAX; per thousand people England has 20% more gun crime than we do. The Anti's neglect to tell you that, WHY? Russia has full Gun Control their crime rate is three times what ours is. WHY? Gun Control does not work. Japan has full Gun Control so they kill with knives and cars.

No. Unreasonable gun control laws only hurt sane and non-criminal gun owners. The insane and criminal could always obtain fire arms illegally if they needed to (hence them being criminals).

The only way to truly control guns would be to ban them entirely and then strictly monitoring our borders + ports of entry and methodically rounding up every gun in the country. That's not gonna happen for logistical and legal reasons. So, anything short of that solution only harms law-abiding gun owners.

Gun control makes no difference. Gun control is a set of laws governing our rights to bear arms. If someone wants to kill another person with a gun, it will happen whether legislation is in place or not. Keep one thing in mind, life is like a bare-knuckle boxing match...protect yourself at all times.
