Could I borrow your car? =

May I borrow your ca? =

You can have one more if you want. =

You may have one more if you want.

Could I borrow your car?
May I borrow your car?

use "may" is more polite than use of "could". The owner of the car is willing to lend the car to a polite "girl/boy/man/woman"

I means that hte success rate of 2nd sentence is higher than 1st ones.

You can have one more if you want.
You may have one more if you want.

the meaning of these 2 sentences is same use = you are allowed to choose one. The meaning of "may" is can, be able, or be allowed

Both were the same question
The first ones state that you ask yourself not the other
The second ones clearly state do the other want to let you do that

Could I borrow your car?
May I borrow your car?

如 could you give me a favor.
就好小聽人 may you give me a favor.

You can have one more if you want.
You may have one more if you want.

記著 CAN

Could I borrow your car?
May I borrow your car?

You can have one more if you want.
You may have one more if you want.
You can have one more if you want.
You may have one more if you want.

但運用may比can/could是更有禮貌
