My kids piano teacher and casual friend is watching my dog (Maltese) for 1 week. Do I need to pay him? How much? Or should I get him a gift instead?

Are you serious? Are you really thinking of NOT paying him? Wow, I thought I was cheap. haha Seriously, I think you should pay him between $75 to $100 and get him a reasonable gift. If you're going on vacation, a souvenir would be nice. The gift should be about $20 in value and be something he might really use. Remember, he is taking care of your dog better than a kennel would. The dog is getting personal care and is able to have more space and freedom than at a kennel. You have to ask, is your dog worth that extra care?

As a puppy sitting company proprietor, you may consider the charges we've got charged for boarding. for each 24 hour era we charged $39 for in-abode boarding and then $25 for a a million/2-day. this could get very costly for 2 weeks, so we could have seen a relief. our fee selection is acceptable regularly occurring for a competent puppy sitting company. i'm sure pals and families could cost plenty much less. Has the co-worker reported cost? could be which you may desire to agree on a quantity that feels honest for the two certainly one of you.

I charge 20.00 per day for 2 dogs, and an additional 5 dollars each day for additional pet care. This also includes house sitting and walking them etc. I am not required to stay at the house the whole time, just be there for feedings and overnight. I don't charge nearly as much as some as the other folks who do it around here.

As for simply going to the house and when I have had pet sitters who didn't stay over night, I paid 15.00 to 20.00 per day and purchased a small thank you gift.
We live in the mid-west so the price index is a little lower.

Why, yes you need to pay him. From what I have researched, it would be anywhere from $15.00 to $26.00 per day. In this city, dog walkers get basically one dollar per minute of walking. You would be paying MUCH more if you had to kennel your dog.

You should pay him 5 times a visit. That is what my neihgbor did for me. She is very genrous though, because every day I made $15.00

I would say 10$ a day. You would be paying a LOT more then that at a boarding kennel and your dog would not even get out of a crate so be as generous as you can.
