Yes both sentences can contain past tense, and I agree with the 2ns poster (all the others are incorrect thus far). I'll just add some more here -
Amy did your homework for you. (This is a past tense sentence talking about 'last night', not a command as some people suggested.)
Because when we did our homework last night (again, past tense sentence about 'last night')
we shared her pencil. (can be 'shared' - past tense. Or 'were sharing' - past participle. Past tense is fine in this sentence here.)
