英文問題 home & house

係 同義詞，house和home是有分別的 - e.g. (1)多數講 Dream house 唔會講 Dream home；(2)多數講 Friend's home 唔會講 friend's house；但在法文house和home，這兩個字沒有分別，只用一個字來表達。mind和brain在英文有別，在法文又是沒有分別，只用一個字。在哪裡可以找到英文的同義詞呢？Roget's Thesaurus是一本著名的英文同義詞詞典，我不厭其煩建議大家買一部放在案頭，以備不時之需。
在香港，我們沒有太多練習英文的機會。只有多看書、多看電視。從中也可以學得不錯，最重要是持之以恆，不要氣餒，不要半途而廢。這需要幾年的功夫，而非幾個月便可成功。你一旦放棄，便前功盡棄。我親眼見過一些年青人下了幾年功夫多看書和多看電視，結果也有不錯成績。
