At x-intercept of a function, the value of y in that coordinate equals to 0.
So, to find out x-intercept of the funtion, just simpily sub y=0 and calculate the value of x.

For y-intercept, sub x=0 by the same principle...

1. y = -2x + 19

To find out the x-intercept, we sub y=0

0 = -2x + 19
x = 19/2

So, x-intercept is 19/2.

To find out the y-intercept, we sub x=0

y = -2(0) + 19 = 19

Therefore, the y-intercept is 19.

2. 35/3 = y/3 + 5x/3

Sub y=0, 35/3 = (0)/3 + 5x/3
x = 7

x-intercept is 7.

Sub x=0, 35/3 = y/3 + 5(0)/3
y = 35

y-intercept is 35.

Referring to the coordinates, you will know that when x-intercept, the value of y should be 0, because the point is on x-axis. So we sub y=0 into the equation and solve out the value of x.The same principle is employed to find out y-intercept.

x-intercept --> sub. y = 0 into the equation
y-intercept --> sub. x = 0 into the equation
y=-2x +19 intercepts --> x: 19/2 y: 19
35/3= 1/3y + 5/3 x intercepts --> x: 7 y: 35
