First you have to know the flow rate of a pump. Flow rate is f(volume, time). The amount of liquid passing through the system is determine by the size of the intake. The bigger the head allow bigger flow, the small the head allow smaller flow. To achieve the designed flow, you have two options. One, large head and slow rate. Second, small head with fast flow rate.
