2. A gas station sells an average of 4000 L of gas per day when the price is 60 cents per litre. For each 1 cent increase in the price the number of litres sold per day is reduced by 50 L. What price gives the greatest possible weekly revenue?

Let a be the no. of cents increases in price.Thus, the revenue per day will be y = (4000 - 50a) x (60+a) = 24000 +1000a - 50a^2 .
dy/da = 1000 - 100a = 0
a = 10
So when the price is 70, the weekly/dailyrevenue will be the greatest.
