Definition of differentiation

導數 (Derivative) 其實最基礎是由 "Slope of a curve" 的 concept 演變出來的, 首先請參見下圖:

在圖中, 如用傳統的直線的 slope 來定義的話, 則:
Slope = △y/△x
在 curve 中, 當然不能如此定, 因為它不是直線.
然而, 當 △x → 0, 即圖中的兩點越來越趨近對方時, 該節的 curve 便可以 approximately 當成一節直線般看待, 而 △y/△x 的說法亦變為有效的說法, 因此:
