Proteins are regularly meats. So fish chicken and egg are wealthy in protein. Carbohydrates are sugars (glucose). Bread is an occasion. Potatoes and pasta are extreme in carbohydrates.
you know what i find so intresting ? that drinks have more carbs than bread potatoes ,exc... i thought starchy foods were the ones that i needed to stay away from but drinks are PACKED WITH CARBOHYDRATES
Anything made of grain (like corn, wheat oats) and anything that comes from roots or tubers (potatoes, yams, etc.) or anything that has a lot of surgar. And that includes beets, carrots and peas, fruits, etc.
At issue here is food stuffs which have a great deal of starch or sugar in them as both of these are readily converted by the body into either energy, if any is needed, or fat (for use later on). Sugar is the easiest to convert to energy, followed by the various starches. The toughest stuff to convert is -guess what- FAT. The body consumes a lot of energy to break fat down into energy (or back to fat).
Then there are foods that are mainly fibre -the hulls or shells of grains and tubers ('tater skins') and certain vegetables and fruits (apples, for example) which take up space in our tummies but don't have much energy (but often do have vitamins and minerals).
And this leaves us with the "wonder food" -celery- which, because it is mainly fibre and water, takes more energy to consume than it gives back. Eat it exclusively for long enough, and you'll disappear.
