Are these Japanese names supposed to be male or female?

makiko:
真紀子、麻希子、牧子、真希子、真喜子...etc.
satomi:
里美、里見、智美、聖美、理美...etc.

both are female names

Upon first glance, all female names.

According to the database there are 163 kanji matches for Makiko and 233 for Satomi.

Both are female's name, my Japanese friends' also named makiko.

as i know........should be female's names.

Makiko.......i m sure = female......

Satomi....... should be female also. cos usually 'mi' = female
