area of the empty space : (9-4)^2 = 25cm^2

=(4+9)^2
=13^2
=169(cm^2)
area of the empty space in the middle
=(9-4)^2
=5^2
=25(cm^2)
=(4+9)^2
=13^2
=169(cm^2)
