I went out (AFTER) switching off the TV.

OR

I switched off the TV (AND THEN) went out.

之後...我地同常用after/then.
係呢一個case....我會用after
i went out after i had switched the tv off.

如果用then有以下ga example...

但"then"就比較口語.
所以寫就最好用"after"...
one more example:
請你放學之後給我電話!
Can u give me a call after school please?

關了電視之後出門:

1) before i go out i should turn off the TV

or

2) after turn off the TV then go out

p.s. its depends on when u are using this sentance, if u want to say it in a eassy, i recommed u use the first one. if u just want to say it it should be the second one. Because when u translate eng to chinses, u cant translate straight away, sometime its has to be other way round.

then 或者 and then.
e.g. 關了電視之後出門 = I turned off the television then left the house (past tense).
或 I turned off the television and then I left the house.
