How to repair Compaq Presario M2000 notebook

The screen shows "A disk read error occurred" & "Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to retart". I follow the instruction, it goes back to the same screen. I used the "Driver Recovery DVD" to repair, it has no reaction. I try the "Operating System CD" to repair, when I come to the last procedure - press the "R" to carrying out the repair, it didn't work. I want to keep the files , how should I fix my notebook?
