cinema or theater

A cinema is for movie shows，放電影的戲院，so you can call it movie house, but
A theater (or theatre) can also provide stage with enough spacing for perforamance and plays in addition to movie shows演出舞蹈及戲劇的場所又稱劇院, 加上放電影的工具，成為可放電影的戲劇院)
所以是建築期不同的偏愛。末有電影工業出現前，只有theatre戲劇院的叫法。有了電影工業出現之後，便有二者之分。

純個人感覺原創+對西方文化的認識的寫法。

現代人對可放電影的戲劇院比以前的要求高了很多。空調，音響效果，洗手間(休息室)，小食部，甚至停車場、保安和附近交通都有要求。
