急 ~ Duties of merchandiser and merchandising procedures

it depends on yr company .......some company will request merchandiser follow up start from product development to bulk production:

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:
before buyer place the order,buyer will request some fabric quality/trims....merchandiser have to source the relative fabric & trims for buyer's selection,once they selected the fabric & trims,then buyer will request for sample,merchandiser have to work closely for sample details with buyer & factory for sure CORRECT sample have been made.

AFTER BUYER PLACE THE NEW ORDER,MERCHANDISER HV TO FOLLOW UP UNTIL THE SHIPMENT EFFECT:

Merchandiser VS Buyer

merchandiser have to chase buyer for order details,such as order qty,size & colors breakdown,delivery date,packing method/details,trims supplier(some customer will assign the fixed supplier for special trims,for example,the main label supplier for brand label name "GAP" will be "SML",it depends on buyer),washing details,construction details.........

daily email is MUST,it is VERY IMPORTANT for both parties to clarify something not clear or get confirmation from buyer.

Merchandiser VS Factory

merchandiser have to issue sample sheet to factory to clear explain the buyer's request,for example,pass the size spec to factory for sure the sample size will NOT over spec.

if the factory will order the trims from assigned supplier,factory have to submit the sample to merchandiser for approval to ensure they order the CORRECT trims to avoid any misunderstanding!

when factory submit fitting sample/photo sample/saleman sample/pre-production sample/shipment sample,check everything very clear prior send to the buyer,if bad workmanship found on the sample,merchandiser have to advise the comments to factory & well alert them for improvement,otherwise,negative return from buyer (for example:charge back)it will case lost business with the buyer!

when factory start bulk production,make sure they use the CORRECT fabric & trims for bulk.also,chasing them for production status report to ensure NO problem for daily output,therefore,the figure can let u know factory is able to finish the whole order within the request delivery or not.Once the factory finished whole production,merchandiser have to well orangize with QC for inspection before bulk shipment effect.
