The surgery is usually transphenoidal resection of pituitary gland 腦下垂體tumor which involves open up your skull (head bone) from a place in your mouth or nose. Doctors in HK are quite experienced with it and the risk is not very high (but also depends on the size of your tumor and its relations to the surrounding structures, especially the nerves to the eye).
The risk of it coming back is very unlikely if the tumor can be completely removed. But the most commonly seen side effect of the surgery is the destruction of the pituitary gland, so that there is lack of the hormones produced by it. Pills taken daily would take care of this problem, and this should not prevent you from having the surgery so that your disease can be treated.
