kick off有好幾種解釋一）start a football match(by kicking the ball)(足球:開球)
e.g. United kicked off and scored almost immediately(聯隊開球後旋即得分)
二)kick (sth) off=begin(a meeting etc.)開始
e.g. I'll ask Tessa to kick off (the discussion).我叫特薩開始(討論)
三)kick sth off=踢掉某物
e.g. Kick off one's slippers(踢脫拖鞋)
但因為你的字是連在一起kick-off，就是指start of a football match（足球比賽的）開球
