On some boxes of pancake mix it says to add water to the mix. I was wondering if you could use milk instead.

Yes, you can use milk instead of water. If you want a slightly tangy taste, use buttermilk instead of whole or low fat milk. Buttermilk pancakes are great. If you want to help the pancakes from sticking to the pan, add in about 1 T. of vegetable oil to the batter and cook the pancakes on med. to low heat. For a real treat you can offer a variety of toppings:
-1 T. of Blueberry/cherry or apple pie filling (from the can)
-A dusting of powdered/confectioners sugar, cinnamon & cocoa powder
-Add in sliced bananas or apples to the batter just before cooking the pancakes
-A generous spread of Nutella (Hazelnut spread)

Not a problem at all . . also be sure to make mickey mouse pancakes by pouring a big circle . . then two smaller ones for the ears. Then use raisins for the eyes and nose. My 26 yr old loves them when she is high.

No. Federal Law 50034.306-178 prohibits the use of milk in any and all recipes that call specifically for water.

Of course, you can. And if you like buttermilk pancakes, you can use buttermilk instead. I have never added an egg to any pancakes I have made. And I have made delicious pancakes by mixing self-rising flour, buttermilk, and cooking oil together...no need for a mix.

make your own it's only flour, milk, oil, eggs and baking powder.

Sounds like you are using Krusteaz pancake mix. I'm not a big fan. Do you have to add eggs? The best kind of pancake mixes call for both milk and eggs. Trust me. But to answer your question, yes you can add milk, and you can even add an egg too and I bet it will make it taste better. Just experiment. It's just pancake mix anyway.

well, if you don't mind getting fat =P, use whole milk, it'll taste a lot better; but if not, you still can use regular 2% milk, still taste great! oh..by the way, the difference between adding water and milk is, water+pancake mix=taste light (plain to me~), milk(especially whole milk) + pancake mix= more smooth.
also, if you want to make crepe(if I didn't spell it wrong) just use 2 cup of milk(gotta be milk) mix into 1 cup pancake mix, if its still too thick, add a little bit more milk. Then when you cook crepe or pancake, wait til the pan is hot. You don't have put a lot of oil, you use a brush/napkin dip in some oil then brush it even onto the pan. Now put one scoop of the mix onto the pan, remove the pan from the stove, then "road the pan around", make sure the mix is allover the pan, then you put it back on the stove and turn the heat on medium. wait for 2 minutes, then flip it around, another 2 minutes, it's done!
Hope you can understand my English..hehe

When the mix says to add water, it means that it already contains dried milk. I believe you could use milk instead, the out come would be the same- just a little creamier.

Yes, but you usually need to add a Tbsp or so more milk than water. Milk boosts the nutrition, too.

sure..try it.

You can. All that will be different is the concistency of the batter. If you use milk it will be slightly thicker, which will make thicker pancakes. Have fun!

yes you can

No, oh my God!!! Adding milk instead of water!! Why that may cause a nuclear reaction that can cause the very destruction of this planet.

What I meant to say really is HAVE IT YOUR WAY (TM) like my man the King would say. Milk does your body good.
