我覺得2樣都唔係,只要你明白何謂advertising 和 sales promotion就知道家具擺設並不屬於這2個項目。
Sales promotion : short-term activity undertaken with an objestive of a long-term increase in sales. Normally, sales promotion activity including free gifts, competitions, joint-promotions and sampling etc.
Advertising: is a paid non-personal communication from an indentified sponsor using mass media to persuade or influence an audience.
SP係一d宣傳活動在短時間內催谷sale,而advertising就一定有media同埋要俾錢才可以算係advertising. 因為ikea的家具放係舖內並非想在短時間內谷sales所以一定唔係SP。而ikea的display只係放在自己的store內,咁已經冇可能是advertising。(在marketing的層面,advertising唔會只係廣告宣傳咁簡單)
我覺得ikea的product display應該屬於visual merchandising。因為visual merchandising指一間店用不同的lighting, props, 及customized display and selling place 去營造一個良好的購物氣氛,令客人置身其中會增加implus buying的機會同埋增加products同客人之間的關係。ikea一直都想俾客人在一個舒服的環境底下購物,令人可以親身去體驗ikea的product有幾好,呢d都係ikea想係customer心目中建立的image。
