McDonald's
McDonald's Corporation (NYSE: MCD) is the world's largest chain of fast-food restaurants, primarily selling hamburgers, chicken, french fries, milkshakes and soft drinks. More recently, it also offers salads, fruit and carrot sticks. The business began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by siblings Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California. Their introduction of the "Speedee Service System" in 1948 established the principles of the modern fast-food restaurant. The present corporation dates its founding to the opening of a franchised restaurant by Ray Kroc, in Des Plaines, Illinois on April 15, 1955, the ninth McDonald's restaurant overall. The arched design, which first appeared in Illinois, was designed by architect Robert F. Stauber, whose office was across the street.[2] Kroc later purchased the McDonald brothers' equity in the company and led its worldwide expansion.

With the successful expansion of McDonald's into many international markets, the company became a symbol of globalization and the spread of the American way of life. Its prominence also made it a frequent subject of public debates about obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility.

Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut is a restaurant chain and international franchise based in Addison, Texas USA (a northern suburb of Dallas) specializing in American-style pizza along with side dishes including (depending on location) buffalo wings, breadsticks, and garlic bread. Pizza Hut is the world's largest pizza restaurant chain and is part of the YUM! of restaurants. YUM! brand restaurants total approximately 34,000 restaurants, delivery-carry out units, and kiosks in 100 countries.[1].

KFC
KFC, or Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a fast food restaurant chain based in Louisville, Kentucky. Founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, KFC is now a division of Yum! Brands. KFC is known mainly for its fried chicken.

The company adopted the abbreviated form of its name in 1991. Three reasons are commonly speculated: de-emphasis of chicken, as the chain was moving to offer other foods; the unhealthy connotations of "fried"; or a shorter name that would be considered more appealing to youth. Recently, the company has begun to re-embrace the Kentucky Fried Chicken name, and now uses both "Kentucky Fried Chicken" and "KFC" in advertisements. The Kentucky Fried Chicken name can be seen on some buckets of chicken. As of 2007, KFC.com uses Kentucky Fried Chicken for the logo in the United States.

The popularity and novelty of KFC has led to the general formula of the fried chicken fast-food restaurant being copied by restaurant owners worldwide.

Burger King
Burger King (often abbreviated to BK) is a large international chain of fast food restaurants, predominantly selling burgers, french fries, soft drinks, desserts, and various sandwiches. It is headquartered in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, just outside the city of Miami. Hungry Jack's is a franchisee of Burger King that owns, operates and franchises over 300 restaurants in Australia.

Hardee's
Hardee's is an American fast-food restaurant chain, located primarily on the Eastern half of the United States in Midwest, Southeast and East Coast regions. There are several stores located in the Middle East. Hardee's had a few stores in Hong Kong before it ceased to operate in December 27, 2006 due to problems with franchising rights.
