i'm doing an essay on Of Mice and Men's landscape where i i have to identify the characteristics of the landscape, and discuss its complexitites and analyze why steinbeck establishes the landscape in the way he does. I need a good topic sentence and thesis sentence. Any good ideas?

Your topic should be related to the landscape he describes like "Sights and sounds of the Salinas Valley". If you look at John Steinbeck's biography he often puts in his novels these descriptions of a vibrant setting and usually it is in the dry valley of the Salinas were not surprisingly John grew up.
