13. Two points A (6,-8) and B (0,0) are given. P is a point on line segment AB. Find the coordinates of P if each of the following conditions is satisfied.
(a) AP = 3/5 AB
(b) PB = 4/7 AB

(a)AP=3/5AB < = > AP/AB=3/5 < = > PB:AP = 2:3

Let P = (a,b)

By point-intersecting theorem :

a = ((2)(6)+(3)(0))/(2+3)
= 12/5

b = (2)(-8)+(3)(0)/(2+3)
= -16/5

(b) PB = 4/7 AB < = > PB:AP= 4:3

Let P = (c,d)

By point-intersecting theorem :

c = ((4)(6)+(3)(0))/(4+3)
= 24/7

d = (4)(-8)+(3)(0)/(4+3)
= -32/7
