在此, 我們假設 voltmeter 是 ideal 的, 即:

它的存在不會影響電流數值
它不會 draw any current
它的 resistance is infinite 的
再留意 circuit 中的電流方向, 由此可見電路中的 cell 和 resistor 是串聯 (in series) 的, 因為個 voltmeter 可以當成不存在.
然後再留意電勢差 (potential difference) 的極性 (polarity), 即正與負的方向, 若將電池和其內電阻的電勢合併一起來算, 將方向也計算在內的話, 其電勢值將會變為 6V 而非 12 V, 因為兩者電勢的方向是相反的 (如虛線框部分所示).

你那個3V的方塊(即是resistor)是Potential drop accoss the resistence來架!!
9V的是cell Potential step up,
(6V方塊都是Potential drop來架 !!!!)

你個voltmeter 是量緊the potential difference between the [6V的方塊],明未?
