Eason Chan Yik-Shun (Traditional Chinese: 陳奕迅; Simplified Chinese: 陈奕迅; pinyin: Chén Yìxùn; Born July 27, 1974 in Hong Kong) is a prominent male singer and is considered to be a part of the skilled class (實力派) in Hong Kong's music industry. Eason is an artist of Cinepoly Records, which belongs to Universal Music Group. He is also married to long-time girlfriend Hilary Tsui, and has a daughter. He attended Dauntsey's School in Wiltshire, England before embarking on his career as a musician. His album U87, released in 2005, has been recommended by Time Magazine as one of the five best Asian albums worth buying.[citation needed] U87 also has won the top sale of album (non-concert, non-collection category) in Hong Kong in 2005.
Eason has received many important awards in the HK music industry and won Taiwan Song Award The Best Male Singer, which has further confirmed the superstar status of Eason in Asia. His concert "Get A Life", organised in Feb 2006, has been well-known of the most perfect performance over these years in Hong Kong. And the album for the concert has become the top sale in Hong Kong in 2006.
