１）我們用以”ing”結尾的形容詞去描述一件東西或一些情況

其實這兩句說話只講到participle分詞作為形容詞用的一小部分，其實現在分詞／過去分詞都可作形容詞用，作補語，作名詞，甚至作副詞用。但現在我只講作形容詞用：
１）分詞接在名詞的前面時
分詞沒有其他語句並用時，通常接在名詞的前面，一般區別是，現在分詞其主動的意思，過去分詞具被動的意思
例）a living creature = a creature which is living（生物）
a running dog= a dog which is running(在跑的狗）
但雖然如此，但也有些及物動詞的過去分詞，並不表被動而表示主動的意思，如：a drunken man = a man who drunk much
a learned man= a man who has learned much
因此，若你想知道你應揀現在分詞或過去分詞作為形容詞，你應將句子寫長一點，就如你的句子
I will complete my story next week。 I will send the_______(complete) story to the newspaper
若你揀completing，那句再寫長一點，就變成：
I will complete my story next week。 I will send the story that will be completing to the newspaper
你可留意：will be completing的意思是，它將會完成，但故事本身不可以完成自己，是被作者完成，所以這句意思上是不成立的。因此我們會選”completed”，而整句的意思變成
I will complete my story next week。 I will send the completed story to the newspaper = I will complete my story next week. I will send the story that will be completed to newspaper.
你留意”that will be completed”意思是完全的，成立的，是說：它會被完成
而你第二句：
I like Susan. She is an _________(interest) girl.
若你用interested，這句就變成： I like Susan. She is an interested girl ，an interested girl= a girl who is interested，意思有不完全，因為她感興趣(is interested)於甚麼？若你有交代，她是對錢有興趣的，你就要說：She is a money-interested girl(一個對錢感興趣的人）
但你這句是想說，她是有趣的女孩：所以就要用interesting girl=a girl who is interesting.
