Los Angeles or New York?

I would say NY as far as cost of living good.

i live in LA now, and have for about 8 years... was in NY for less time, but was there as well.

one thing i can point out is the expense of living... it's expensive to live in NY. in LA, you can find everything from the affordable to the very expensive, all within a short distance. and the affordable isn't all that bad (not completely scary ghetto).

also, you shouldn't ever get bored in LA. hollywood, the beaches, the desert, mountains (skiing, etc), mexico a couple hours south, vegas a few hours east.

both have good food. NY has great upscale restaurants... LA has alot of good ethnic food.

personally, i like the women in LA alot more. but i have a taste for Latinas so i'm biased.

NY has better nightclubs/nightlife.

if weather is a factor, and you prefer the sunshine to the cold and snow, then it's a no-brainer. LA has some near perfect year round weather.

honestly, as long as you can find employment, you can't go wrong either way.

QOL: Ditto
Crime: Probably LA, unless you're in a gang.
Recreation: LA definitely.
Jobs: Probably LA, depending on the industry.
Weather: LA. Duh.
Traffic: NY
Theater: NY
Outdoor rec: LA
Theme parks: LA
Central park: NY
Staten Island Ferry: NY
Fairies: West Hollywood
Broadway: NY
Broads with ways: LA
Statue of Liberty:NY
Nothing to compare to the Statue of Liberty: LA
Ellis Island: NY
Mexican Border: LA

i'm not really sure, both of those places have pros and cons.

I think LA is a better city to live in. Given all the things you listed equal in both cities, I would pick LA over NY because of LA's climate. Unless you favor snowy winters, then you might like NY better.

Probably NY, I talked to an Army vet,with multible tours in Irak the other day,and he said he feels safer on the streets of Bagdad than Los Angeles.
