Honours degree means you have passed 160 credits, and if you just got 120 credits, then just got the ordinary degree (that's what we called), which mean i.e. BA Business Management, cannot put BA(Hons) Business Management.
Not all British universities are doing 3 years honours degree, in Scotland, 3 years are just for ordinary degree (120 credits), and also have to spend one more year to get an honour degree.
Can't really say the ordinary degree (without honous) is recognised by more organisations or not, actually it doesn't really make a big different in Hong Kong for the job applications. Even though I have got my honours degree in the U.K., but never heard any of my friends who studied in Australia were rejected because of they don't have an honours degree!
It does make quite a big different if you apply for a master degree, as some universities required you to have an honours degree, otherwise, you may have to do a Postgraduate Certificate or diploma first.
