My husband is Japanese and was born and raised in Chiba.

Chiba Prefecture is crisscrossed by rivers, surrounded by the sea and blessed with rich natural resources, including the water and forests. It is located on the eastern side of the Tokyo metropolitan area, and occupies a peninsula that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. The southeastern part of the peninsula faces the Pacific Ocean, while the western side faces Tokyo Bay. The Prefecture adjoins the Tokyo metropolis and Saitama Prefecture to the northwest, and Ibaraki Prefecture to the north

A little fact is, Chiba is famous for its production of peanuts!

The typical Japanese person who doesn't live in Chiba could probably only tell you one thing.

Tokyo Disney is in Chiba.

Also the police in Chiba (and most of Japan) are not so smart, they let a murderer who killed a British girl in Chiba last month just leave the scene, even though there were 9 officers there searching his apartment WHILE HE WAS THERE. He's still on the run.

Chiba City is one of the Kantō region's primary seaports. Much of the city is residential, although there are many factories and warehouses along the coast.
