如何成為Chartered Engineer

There is no "Chartered Engineer" in Hong Kong.

Chartered Engineer can only be registered at UK only, because Hong Kong has no Royal king or queen.

You can join an chartered institution, such as ICE, CIOB, IHT, IStructE, IMech, etc. and then apply for Chartered Engineer through the Institution.

You can join the HKIE and then apply for CEng.

item 3.4 Interviews will be arranged for candidates as soon as applications and submissions have been received and checking procedures have been completed. The writing of the essay normally follows the interview.

UK Engineering Council - Chartered Engineer
Through institute - IET (For EE Engineering)

Australian Engineering Council - Chartered Professional Engineer
Through institute - IEAust

HK - no council, just having Registered Professional Engineer
Through institute - HKIE

Background:
Before 2006 - HKIE and IET are under mutual recognition. Therefore, all Hongkies went to get charter qualification from UK Engineering Council, then transfer to be a Member of HKIE.

Now - HKIE and IET are not under mutual recognition. Therefore, "Charter" means nothing in Hong Kong. Like MBA, nobody wants it anymore because too popular and easy to attain. Useless anyway.

MHKIE does not require master, so you are wasting your time.
Come to Hong Kong to join "Scheme A", then after the pass of professional assessment, you will be granted with MHKIE. In the future, you can apply RPE through MHKIE.
