32 was killed is a big deal... American want the world to know how sad they are... Bush expressed his sorrow to this tragic event. BUT, did those people ever feel bad about those who die in Iraq? When Katrina hit NO, did bush showed up as quick as this seeming little incident? The answer is NO and there are more places where bad guys will find places to do the same in american soil. Unfair and unblanced...

That is exactly my point. I have things to care for in my life. Why should any of us get emotion with this event just because they are VT student and were they more worth-it to live than any of us who don't have a 4.0 GPA or education? To end this conversation, I am going to have some KFC and ignore this news. Everything is a media controlled atmosphere.. u know.

What rock have you been hiding under? Some of those people from Tech went to help rebuild after Katrina. And where do you get off calling the Va. Tech killings "a seeming little incident"? You are lumping all Americans into one typecast. Would you want someone to do that with your countrymen?

This happens everyday in Iraq - Double the number killed in Virginia and you'll get the daily death total there.

Both American soldiers and Iraqi citizens. You should care. Virginia Tech is small compared to the lives lost over in Iraq. But nobody cares about our people dying over there.

ALL life value American and foreign is equal. We are all human. We all have the same roots.

Well I don't understand why some people think Bush should have interrupted rescue and relief efforts right after Katrina, for a photo op. He would have been criticized righteously for doing so.
The VT disaster is finished, the dead counted and the wounded cared for. Bush's presence won't interrupt anything.
Do you feel bad about the hundreds of thousands of people murdered and tortured by Saddam before he got toppled? That's not even counting combat deaths in his foreign adventures.

This is a pretty ignorant statement. I feel bad for the soldiers and innocent civilians who die in Iraq, but soldiers sign up for the military. They know they have the chance to go to war and die. They are very brave. Katrina was a natural disaster. It wasn't Pres. Bush's fault that it happened. They Mayor of New Orleans is the most at fault for not helping getting people out. This was a person who went out of his mind and killed innocent people. All of these events are tragic and no one likes the death of people. Please keep this in perspecitve. No one's life is more important than anothers. Why do you want to minimize it just because the #'s are smaller than the other 2 events? If you knew someone who was killed I'm sure you wouldn't be saying something like this. I'm glad more people didn't get killed!

Most everyone who answers all these questions seems to be an america-humping(as in, they'd hump it even if it had a gun to their children and was riddled with syphilis) redneck with no respect or knowledge for or of anyone outside of the country. It's pathetic...

I think you need to look at the bigger picture. What is more important is looking at why youth violence seems to be on the rise, and what could possibly trigger someone to erupt into fatal violence. Rather than comparing this incident to war and terrorism,look at the why.
