To tender your resignation by giving a letter to your employer is not sufficient as you have a 2-years' employment contract. I think you should definitely check it carefully to the terms of the contract e.g. trial period, probational period. Normal speaking, if you resign during the probational or trial period, see if you are required just to give 1-day's notice. There must be some clauses on restriction or penalty levied on you for the early termination of the contract. Check for it!
