Can anyone give me the chemical equation of the reaction between C4H6O6 (tartaric acid) and NaOH (sodium hydroxide)????

C4H6O6 + 2 NaOH -----> C4H4O6Na2 + 2 H2Otartaric acid (2,3-hydroxybutandioic acid) is a dibasic acid. That's why we have the above equation.
