Which structure does HCL have? giant ionic or simple molecular. Besides, What bond exists in it? ionic or covalent?

Is it an ionic compound? ( It consists of H+ cation and CL- anion)?

HCl Has a simple molecular structure,
the bond exists in it is covalent bond....

covalent bond → non-mteal + non-metal
ionic bond → metal + non metal

** H+ is non-metal !!

NH4+ and NO3- is an ionic compound, because of NH4 loses an electron to form NH4+,while NO3 gains an electron to form NO3- ,one side form bond by losing e- and other side form bond by gaining e- ,that's why NH4NO3 is an ionic compound.

In the case of HCL, H and Cl form bond by SHARING e-, so they are covalent bond.covalent bond → non-mteal + non-metal ionic bond → metal + non metal is just a mostly situation, and it's easy to remember

HCl has simple molecular structure
in a HCl molecule
there is strong covalent bond exist between H atom and Cl atom
in a number of HCl molecules
there is weak van der Waals' force exist between HCl molecules

HCl is a covalent compound
it's because it's formed from H and Cl
they are both non-metal

if in air, (hydrogen chloride), it is simple molecular, H need one more electron, Cl need one more electron, so it is covalent.
if in water, the hydrogen chloride get ionize, so it become hydrochloric acid, and H+ and Cl- exist.
ps. because of this, water is needed for showing acid properties of acid.

first, ionic compound is consist of cation and anion, as u said, NH4NO3 have NH4+ and NO3-, so it is ionic compound. Remember that HCl is covalent, only when dissolve in water give ions.
