Your son will study in uk. Don't buy any phone card from HK.
1. When your son landing and settle down from school and then go to carphoneware house to get a international phone sim card, it is FREE. Don't forget take a mobile from HK. 2. Top up £20 .This sim card is for him to call back Hong Kong and contact with you.. It is only 7 pence per minute. It is about $1.2HK. It is for emergence. 3. Go to China Town of Manchester to buy a phone card. In China Town, there have a chinese phone shop, they can help you and slove out the problem of phone card or ring back to hk. I suggest to buy a card called swift call, you pay £20 and the value is £25. This card is for your son ring you back from school telephone or public phone and ask him dial 0800....... to connect the international call or ask the sales to explain to you or your son how to use it. It is because only 5 pence per minute.

actually ask ur son buy uk O2 sim card . about 4.99 pounds for the card then u add value to it. if your son stay in a family or place have lan line then he can text you and u call there. then that is far more cheaper since hk have plan call to uk is very cheap . And if u buy O2 card there is a plan than can text to worldwide only 10p i think is the cheapest in uk(london).

i personally use that and my mum call me at weekend to my host family.
