Entry Requirements
Applicants should
Applicants of the CIM/HKU SPACE Certificate in Marketing should meet:
(i) English Requirement:
- Either Grade E or above in HKCEE English Syllabus B
- OR Grade C or above in HKCEE English Syllabus A
(ii) Academic Requirement:
- Either 2 passes at A-Level or equivalent;
- OR 4 passes at HKCEE plus either one A-Level or one year’s full time practical experience in marketing or business related areas;
OR
(iii) be mature age applicants of aged 20 or above with at least one year’s full time experience in marketing or business related areas.
Day(s) / Time
Classes will generally be held on two weekday evenings (7:00 – 10:00 p.m.) and/or weekend day (2:30 – 5:30 p.m.), and may be scheduled on public holidays, if necessary. Make-up classes will be scheduled on Saturdays, when necessary.

The aims and objectives of the Certificate programme are to help students:
Understand the role of marketing in business;
Recognize the role of marketing in the development and the implications for the organization;
Utilise marketing research to improve customer communications and analyse and interpret written, visual and graphical data;
Distinguish between the types of organization within the public, private and voluntary sectors, understand their objectives and the influences upon them;
Recognise the importance of collecting relevant data, and the variety of information sources, both primary and secondary.
Three intakes are offered in June, September and February. Students are required to enrol 2 subjects in each semester.
Teaching will be face-to-face in English and supplemented by lecture notes, case studies and class discussions. Teaching materials will normally be in English.
