How do we test nitrogen by using a burning splint?

hydrogen gives a pop sound with a burning splint.

we cannot test nitrogen by just using burning splint
since nitrogen has no simple test.
if we just use burning splint, the result is the fire will go out.
however, carbon dioxide will also give the same result,
so nitrogen cannot test by burning splint!!!
