A:其實，在小袋鼠還未有能力離開育兒袋前，是會在袋中排泄的，這樣當然會有排泄物;但袋鼠媽媽並不是任由袋鼠仔的排泄物留在袋中，只要小袋鼠有排泄物，牠就會很自然地，用舌頭舔袋子以清潔。

其實在袋鼠仔出生前後，袋鼠媽媽均會很自發性地用脷清理袋口，為兒子的出生及養育提供良好的環境:

出生前:

小袋鼠通常待在袋口中近8~10個月才能自立;在這段期間內，身為母親的便會時常舔乾淨袋口，甚至服食小孩的便便，以確保袋口的清潔。而這種行為是在哺育期中持續不斷的!!以下是參考:

原來袋鼠的舌頭長度在動物界中亦數一數二，所以便有能力把脷伸進袋口中進行清潔;以下是參考，同時亦道出了牠是在把孩子短暫放離袋口時，才進行這動作:
