my experience is that you have to wait for a confirmaton e-mail stating that the CD is available for pick up at the specified HMV store. If you have NOT received such e-mail you may try to contact HMV via online and enquire your order's status. They will only send you the 'pick up' e-mail only if they have the CD ready for you, but they will NEVER guarantee you the exact date for that to happen...
(btw, if you've found the CD elsewhere you could try to cancel the order before HMV has the CD ready for you to pick up, but that depends on the current status of your order)

Actually I haven't wait for their dispatch e-mail as I have found the CD I wanted elsewhere... How about calling up HMV TST and ask whether they have your CD ready?
