It depends on which airline you are traveling with. Long haul flights usually have more comfortable seats then domestic, but then, if you sat for 10 + hours, no seat would really be comfortable, unless you are in business or first class. Food is okay; it’s somewhat edible, and that also depends on the airline too. My experience has been that airlines flying over the Atlantic have bad food while the ones flying over to the Pacific have better food. For example, British Air and United Air -- bad; Japan Air and Singapore Air -- good. I know UA has many flights flying over the Pacific, but avoid if you can.

Other things you may find on an international flight (coach) are free alcohol, in-flight movies, video games (depends on the airline), socks, blanket, cushion, toiletries… that’s about it.

Words of advice: don't get wasted on the flight with all those free alcohol. Hangover + jet lag = no fun.

Enjoy your trip! =)

there not much different from regular flights. just depends on what airline your traveling with. Here is a list of stuff i would bring on the airplane:
-ipod
-cdplayer(incase ipod battery gets low)
-laptop
-blanket(usualy gets cold on international flights)
-extra clothes to change if the flight is 1-2 days long
-camera
-AXE(just in case if the person next to you smells...spray in the air, not on person)

The Caribbean is considered an international flight so I will answer regarding flying to the Caribbean not Europe. The planes are bigger if it's a popular city/island. The seats are not usually bigger but you will have seating 2-4-2 across the isle. So these feels like more room. Depending on the airline, free movies, food and soft drinks (coke, sprite, coffee, tea etc)
You can go on the airline website and they will tell you exactly what type of air craft you will be on.

Bigger planes generally, but with more people, so you are still as cramped as you would be on a local national flight. The flights are longer, there are more rest-rooms, but it is still an airline so you will still be in a cramped area. As for food, depends on the airline and flight, you can call the airline and find out that information from them. Have fun on your travel.

When I flew to Germany their were some very notable differences between that flight and domestic flights that I took. They are (not necessarily in order of importance):

1) The food was better.
2) More room.
3) FREE ALCOHOL!!

It was a good flight.

Not much different -- a little more room, some mediocre food, often there's a movie or two.

International flights to where?

Qantas, for example, is a blast to fly. SAS is supposed to be great. Other international flights would, I imagine, be much less desireable depending on the country, the company...

It's just too general of a question.
