In 1993, Lee Lai Shan won the champion in the Asian Championship as well as the World Championship. She became the number one sailor in the world ranking list.

In 1995, windsurfing was selected as target sport for another 4 years. In 1996, Lee Lai Shan won the gold medal in the Olympic Games. In 1999 and 2001, Ho Chi Ho and
Chan King Yin won the champion trophy in the Youth World Windsurfing Championship respectively.
