I think Car and Driver got a very fair and unbias evaluation that you could refer to as a reference:

Rating Scale: 1= worst 10= best
Based on this report, this is really not a bad choose. I have driven the 2004, 2005 aand 2006 models before but not the 2007.
At that time, I was driving the v6 3.0 L engine version. My personal comments based on these old models are as follow:
1. got an over all "well and decent" fit and finish
2. pretty good and quiet handling on highway speed (50 mph and below)
3. power is not what you should expect from this pony (it will not give you much)
4. on up hill slope, you have no choose but to go easy, it's just not design for it.
5. Got all the bells and whistles that Camry or Accord don't have, at no additional cost! (Sweet!)
6. Cheap! Cost a lot less than Honda pr Toyota, will leather.....
In conclusion, if you are looking for a family sedan and speed or power is not your cup of tea, go for it. But if you are looking for something with style, character, and maintenance is a big deal to you and you want a car to last longer than 5 or 6 years with a good resale value. Than you should think twice (how many 5 years or older Sonata you've still seen running good on the streets??) In US, they are offering 100,000 miles warrenty for a reason.......
