(a) since the price of each football is $60, therefore,

the price of a basketball is 1.2 X $60 =$72

(b) Let x is the number of football, therefore, x+15 is the number of basketball.

the cost of the batch of basketballs and footballs is $2400, profit is $660, then,

the total money received from customers is $3060.

therefore,

$72 (x+15) + $60x = $3060

72x +1080 + 60x = 3060

132x = 1980

x =15

so, the total number of football sold is 15, the total number of basketball sold is 30.
