How come I'm so good at economics but I'm still poor?

Because you're not applying your knowledge of economics to your life?

economics is a class and has to do with putting the right answers on paper. if you're poor, it's because you need to get better at implimenting and following a budget based on the money you HAVE, not the money you wish you had.

Being smart in any particular subject does not make one rich. The concept of "America the Land of Opportunity" and the "American Dream" centers around the belief that if you work hard, are persistent, and follow your dreams then there's no limit on the success you can achieve.

You need a vision, a passion, and a willingness to work harder than everyone around you. Then with little venture capital and luck you can be successful.

it's different to be able at economics and different your financial situation. Maybe your salary is very low or you want to buy expensive things. The system is unfair. you have to know that!

i have met a lot your cohorts. fine folks but i would say they tended to have very low sales and marketing ability. most accountants dont make the major leagues a partner at one of the big accountig partnerships. maybe they just don't have the ability to do everything. salesmanship?

"Poor" is a relative term.

You could have 1 or 2 basic reasons for your problem:

1. You don't make very much money. (Hard to overcome that one)

2. You spend all of the money you do make and you spend it unwisely. (This one you do have some control over)

LOL! Why is it that I know about 5 people who majored in econ or do something with economics for a living and they're all broke.

Because you see the entire picture, but you are too spontaneous and are bad at saving.

You have a bold personality but can read a spread sheet and saving to invest in future assets is boring to you.

You are a good promoter and you can most likely make a lot of money, but keeping it and growing it is your challenge as you would rather travel and party with it.
