According you said that you want to format the hard drive but you cannot delete or format? If you are using XP, try the following:
First, you can go to my computer, highlight the hard drive, and right click the mouse, choose the format; if not work!
Secondly, use the third party program to format the hard drive, such as partition magic....., if not work!
Final, put the XP disk into CD Rom or DVD Rom and restart, let the XP use the orginal format to format the disk. The final one is 100% OK but before format, you should backup all important data.

There are no need to type anything, just let windows run by itself. When it runs, ask you reinstall windows-yes. it will start to ask to format your hard disk and create partition, follows the instruction, try again. If not, please post it again.
