普通話的英文為 Mandarin or putonghua?

美國人其實都系用mandarin
本人住左美國十幾年，真係未聽過當地人用putonghua形容普通話or國語

國語 - used by Taiwan people, ROC
普通話 - use by PRC people, as official language of PRC

Mandarin is the collect name for the language. However, for non Chinese who can speak Mandarin, they will know how to pronunce"putonghua" correctly in mandarin. Most of them will say I can speak "Putonghua".
