To get admitted to any master program(normal one) in US, GRE General Test is usually an admission requirement. (No matter what u major in.) You need to check out your university's handbook for specific college's GRE Subject Test requirements.
GRE consists of a General Test and Eight Subject Test.
The General Test measures your verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills.
The eight Subject Test measures your knowledge of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology.

Now, if you are applying for master program in business or MBA, you need to take additional test call GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test.
