2. 英文金曲之中的經典 " Tears In Heaven " ,其創作背後其實是沿自一連串的不幸事件。

1990年底，圍繞着英國「結他之神」Eric Clapton的厄運俏俏開始發生。當時,長年跟着Eric的巡迴樂隊班底柯林史密斯（Colin Smythe）和奈吉爾布朗（Nigel Browne)，因為搭乘的直昇機失事墜毀而喪生，搭檔的亡故給了他極大的打擊，短短幾個月之後，就在1991年3月20日由於保母的疏忽，Eric Clapton年屆4歲的兒子Conor從窗戶失足墜樓，由紐約公寓陽台意外墜樓身亡。

Eric Clapton在傷心之餘寫下這一首"Tears In Heaven"，悼念年幼夭折的愛子，而這首"淚灑天堂"當初打進排行榜的，是原聲帶專輯的錄音室版本，而人們真正最喜愛的，還是他在「MTV Unplugged 」演唱會的實況版本的實況版本(也就是放在這裡的版本)，同時他也因為這首歌奪下了1992年度「最佳唱片」、「最佳歌曲」和「最佳流行男歌手」等多項葛萊美獎。不過，假如他可以選擇，我相信他還是寧願不要有這首歌，而換回愛兒的生命吧？

當筆者在聽這首歌的時候，可以感受到Eric Clapton那種濃濃的哀傷彷彿可以透過歌聲傳達出來。「我能在天堂遇見你嗎？你還會記得我嗎？」

無盡的思念順著歌詞流瀉而出，因為太過悲傷，所以開始期待在天堂的相遇。

「但我必須堅強，必須堅持下去，因為我不屬於天堂……」

筆者按: " THE CHOIRBOYS " 如天使般的聲音,加上Eric Clapton的歌詞寫得如詩篇的悒鬱感人,真是聞者心酸,聽者潸然悲慟難忍。
