Dangerous Game is a 1993 film, directed by Abel Ferrara, also known as Snake Eyes. The film stars Madonna, Harvey Keitel and James Russo.
The film opened in US theaters on November 19, 1993 and was trashed by critics. It gained a favorable place among Madonna's fans and critics throughout the years though as the film probably was too experimental back when it was first released.
Madonna herself was apparently not happy with the film itself. She was quotes as follows: "Even though it's a shit movie and I hate it, I am good in it." She also mentioned how the actual script was much better and her part was much stronger written. However director Abel Ferrara changed a lot of it in the editing room.
Also notable: This was the first film to be produced by Maverick's film division.

Tittle: Emma
by Jane Austen

Four Characters
Emma Woodhouse
Mr Knightley
Harriet
Robert Martin

Among the four characters, I like Mr Knightley best. I think he is a good person. He is mature and teaches Emma many things. He lets Emma know her weaknesses like her blindly wanting to be a match-maker. He is mature and really cares for others, in particular, Emma. I think he may not be a very handsome man but he will be a good husband.

Impressive Part
I think the most impressive part is the conversations between Emma and Mr Knightley. Emma finally knows that she loves Mr. Knightley who has long been her family’s friend and Mr. Knightley also reveals to Emma his true feelings. I think they are a good match. Love begins very early in their hearts as they have long been friends. Love buds without their knowing. It is a romantic story. Mr. Knightley usually talks in a polite way but very often lectures Emma on different matters. Their conversations are very different from ours.

Comments
I think it is a well-written book. I like the plot very much. I am happy that innocent Harriet can marry an honest man, Robert Martin. Also, pretty Emma can marry wise Mr. Knightley who is a capable gentleman. It is a happy ending for most of the characters. The writer lets us know the personality of each character through conversations, descriptions and narrations. Her writing is very effective and successfully depicts different images of various characters.

Also, it is a good lesson for Emma as well. In the beginning, she always thinks what she does is right like asking Harriet not to marry Robert Martin. After a few incidents, she gradually realizes that she has been too self-centered and she may not be able to control the feelings of others. There is a good change in her self-assessment. Being pretty and rich is not everything.

Summary and Comments
When I first read the book, I know that it should be about a happy lady named Emma. On the cover, the lady was Gwyneth Paltrow. I find her very pretty and elegant. I also think that she must be very rich as she is wearing very pretty clothes. Then, I think I am right. In the book, Emma was described as a pretty and rich lady.

Jane Austen's Emma is about an upper-class young woman from the 18th century. She is the protagonist and makes a hobby out of match making. By doing so she injures her companion, because she is blind to other peoples' feelings and opinions. Emma is a benevolent character, but she is incredibly misguided. The only person who can criticize her is Mr. George Knightley. They have grown up together and their relationship develops as the novel progresses.

Most of the plot is propelled by Emma's antics and schemes to control the people around her. Comical witticisms pervade the novel. The more Emma attempts to steer her peers toward certain paths the more she discovers her own lack of direction. The theme of marriage is evident as it is the central focus for nearly every character. Some renounce it while others advise prudent matches. In the end, Emma must stop wielding others and concentrate on her own ambitions regarding marriage.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Emma. I found myself with a perpetual smile on my face as Emma got herself in and out of mischief. She is so likable that I was constantly rooting for her. She was great because of her fallibility. Her mistakes were always out of good intentions.
