I am a Hong Kong resident. A China company will employee me in HK and I will sign a employment contract. I will work in Hong Kong only. The company will pay the salary to my RMB$ account in China.

I would like to know that,

(1) Am I liable to any China tax?
(2) Does the place in which the employment contract is signed affect my tax liability?

1) Yes, in practice, the salary you received in your bank accounts has been deducted for Individual Income Tax of China.

2) It may has some effects. In Hong Kong, IRD looks at the source of income. If you sign the contract in HK, they may query about the source of income is in Hong Kong. No special effects for China as they have paid the tax anyway.
